It’s be nice to have a discussion about rehabilitating the appearance of the F5s that have severely yellowed. I’m can’t imagine there’d be any way to reverse it but how best to paint over, etc.

I’ve thought about this too- I too think that the only option would be to paint the plastic, but I’m not too keen on that idea; it would mean losing all of the lettering on the case for a start.
Unless someone can suggest a magic chemical solution to undo the damage of UV while leaving the lettering untouched, I think we’re just going to have to live with our yellowed turntables, trying to keep them out of daylight as much as possible to prevent further degradation.

Here’s a possible solution (no pun intended) if one can dissassemble the case pieces.

Very good find! I’d love to know how this would work out on the PS-F5 or PS-F9. I think I’ll start a new blog post asking if anyone has a spare case that they’re willing to experiment on.

Thanks for sharing your detective work 🙂
